The Construction Enterprises Training System (CET System) is an online mentorship programme designed for SMMEs / emerging contractors / targeted enterprises in the construction industry.
About Us
What Is The Construction Enterprises Training System?
Having been extensively involved in the construction industry in Southern Africa, our mentors have identified the urgent need for many of the construction companies to implement reliable and effective management systems to manage quality, budget, programme, scope, health and safety and risk.
Through a series of project reviews as well as direct mentorship of emerging contractors, we have identified that most of the smaller contractors do not work with reliable management systems in place which continue to lead to challenges and failures on their projects.
There are a variety of names given to the many young construction companies, these being SMME (Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises), Emerging Contractors, Targeted Enterprises, etc. What many have in common is that they lack knowledge and the correct guidance in order to implement reliable construction management systems. We know that once these management systems are implemented that it will make a remarkable improvement in their ability to perform and be successful on their projects. The best construction management systems revolve around simplicity. Keeping it simple but effective. This is where the Construction Enterprises Training System steps in to assist.
The Construction Enterprises Training System is an online mentorship program that will teach the student about the important knowledge areas of construction, such as preparing and submitting a tender and, thereafter, when the user gets the job, to manage quality, budget, programme, health and safety, risk, communication, contracts, etc.
A successful project is one that it is delivered on time, and within budget and quality targets. It’s about getting this balance right between these important knowledge areas. Knowing and understanding the basics of how to manage quality, programme, budget, health and safety, risk, etc, in construction shouldn’t be complicated.
The learner can get a full understanding of these areas and understand how they can successfully apply these to their project when using the training tools and materials laid out by the CET System. This online training and mentorship program is presented in three languages, including English, Zulu and SeSotho and includes several templates that can be used to manage quality, programme, budget, risk, communication, contracts, etc.
Once you have finished the full training module in your own time, you can write an exam for a certificate of attendance. Thereafter, you can use your new knowledge and skills to help build your SMME and make every construction project the success it is meant to become.
